(2nd August - 11th August 2023)
Then YOU could be part of this years Wells Carnival Royalty!

Ted & Murpheys Big Announcement

The Wells Carnival Committee were very sorry to give you the news recently that they had to cancel the Carnival Week in August.

Since then they have been very busy handing out children’s craft packs and posting ideas for fun, craft ideas, quizzes and fun puzzles to keep you all amused in these difficult times.

Well now we are able to give you some very good news.

We are planning to hold a virtual Carnival Week for 2020 to make up for the loss of the real Carnival. Along with friends of the Carnival, the committee will be holding quizzes, bingos, pet show, painting competition, best garden competition, a disco, tennis workshops, cookery displays, duck race and if you build something small and play with it in the bath we could even have a virtual raft race!

We will all miss the amazing music nights in the week. Oh no, not any more, we are hoping to play videos of the bands that were booked for the week, and a collection of the bands that have been to Wells Carnival over the years.

All these events will be posted on our new YouTube channel (during the first week of August) so you can stay safe at home and enjoy in the garden or indoors, because it always rains on Wednesday!

The committee did think they were getting the year off –

More details of how to enter and be involved will be on FaceBook, Twitter and the website, so keep checking.

Also second piece of good news is:

We will have Wells Carnival wrist bands for 2020 – a different design to our usual ones, as this year’s Carnival will clearly be different.

Our wristbands acknowledge the incredible work carried out by our NHS workers. The bands are £1.50 each with all profits to go to NHS Charities Together.

There are various ways you can purchase the wristbands:

1) From our wonderful Wells Post Office in Station Road – please adhere to social distancing when purchasing.
2) Send a cheque payable to Wells Carnival Ltd., for £1.50 per wristband plus £1 p&p (this covers the cost of p&p for up to 20 wristbands) to: Wells Carnival wristbands, c/o Remus, Bases Lane, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk NR23 1DH (don’t forget to include your postal address)
3) Email: wellscarnival@live.co.uk with your name, address and the number of wristbands and we will confirm the amount due and how to pay by BACS.
